Organized Chaos??

I found this amazing blog post (Click Here) that changed my life, seriously. I have been trying to get my craft space organized. I see all these beautiful pictures via Pinterest of lovely work spaces. I kept thinking, I need that organized space. I feel like in my younger, more carefree days, I was better at organizing. When I think back now (with fondness) of those days, I’ve decided it’s because I didn’t have any kids and I hardly had anything to organize.

Today is a different story. I have four kids, a house and this small home based fun designing aprons and such. I love sewing and if I didn’t have anything else to do, I would be in my sewing room thinking of pretty things to make.

I am great at chaos. It’s organized to me (sort of). I think I had it by color or something. However, it was hard to tell how much I had of each fabric, etc. I try to be organized and keep it straight, but it is difficult to keep fabric stacked neatly. How have you done it? Are you like me? Do you fold each piece the same? Try to keep uniform sizes? Whatever you choose to do to keep the fabric straight – this is easy, awesome and TIDY!

When I went to buy the comic book boards I had no idea what I was doing. I called a local shop first and asked if they had them in stock. The size you need is Silver. They will know what you are talking about, I promise. It was only $9.00 for 100 boards. The girl asked me if I had a big collection? I replied, yes – of fabric. I told her about this idea I found and she thought it was great. She told me she would be calling her grandma to let her know. It did take me quite a bit of time to get all my fabric folded, but was totally worth it. I have extra shelf space and less clutter. So thank you to Cut to Pieces Blogspot – you have made my craft space so much nicer! I only wished I would have found you back in 2011.
