Are you like me? Looking for activities that all of your kids enjoy? We have a wide age range and sometimes games that the littles can play and enjoy the big kids don’t want to play. Our family friends, the Smith family, showed us how to make Snow Bubbles. It was something that all the kids loved and it was easy. You can do this at home with a few household items.

SUPPLIES
Special Bubble Mixture : 2C Dawn Dish Soap
6 C Water
Empty 2L Bottle – labelled removed.
2-3 lbs Dry Ice + Warm Water
18″ PVC Sprinkler Tubing
1 Solo 16-18 oz drinking Cup
DIRECTIONS
Cut top off of 2L bottle. Rinse, dry, set aside.
Cut hole in Solo cup just big enough for the tubing to fit inside.
Glue the Solo cup to the pipe and to the funnel tip – let dry at least over night.
Make special bubble mixture: begin by making a slurry of corn starch and water. I used approximately 3 T of Corn starch and 1/4 C cold water. Mix until smooth consistency is achieved.
Combine 6 C water and slurry mixture. Stir until incorporated. Add corn syrup stir until dissolved. Add Dawn dish soap. Set aside. I scraped the bubbles off the top.
Making Bubbles:
ALWAYS WEAR PROTECTIVE GEAR WHEN HANDLING DRY ICE!!!
Dip the solo cup into bubble mixture, place a few chunks of dry ice in bottom of cut 2L bottle add warm water, place funnel over top of 2L creating a seal. Bubbles will begin to form in the solo cup, once they are formed you can gently shake them into gloved hands or onto a clean towel. It will continue to form bubbles. Once it stops re-dip the cup into the bubble mixture and begin again. If the bubbles are forming too slowly you can add additional warm water to the dry ice or add more dry ice.
This is one of our favorite activities, but please be sure to have adults handle the dry ice, it is very dangerous and can burn skin if touched.
