You guys! I have always just sewn for my kids. My girls love dresses and I love making them. Since it’s the beginning of 2019. I wanted to try something for myself. I found this darling pattern to make this shirt last year and the first time I tried it failed.
What do we do if at first you don’t succeed? Try, try, again! My mom taught me that – I believe you can learn a lot from mistakes. My darts were uneven, which if you have ever sewn you know can be…ummm, well, let’s just say uncomfortable for all. Well, I decided to take a little break and then try again. I am so glad that I did! This is one of my favorite projects I have made and I am completely in love with the way it turned out. Also, I kind of love the ribbon belt. Is this a thing?
Here are my Project Details:
McCalls Pattern: M7542. I did Pattern E with sleeves from C. I like the longer torso because after five kids hiding the stomach area is a priority for me.
Riley Blake Fabric: 1/4″ Gingham in Navy
If you decide to sew this up, send me a photo. I love to see what you all are creating.
Thanks for dropping by!
