Valentine Box Tutorial

I’ve joined up with some crazy talented bloggers to show you some amazing Valentine’s boxes and projects that were created using our Cricut cutting machine. Good news you can totally make these boxes yourself, they are cute, fun and super easy to duplicate. I’d love to see what you make – feel free to drop me a comment with a photo.

I love making homemade valentine’s because it feels so much more special. You can easily make your own as well. Hopefully this tutorial will help to get your creative juices flowing and you make your own valentine projects this year.

Mermaid Valentine Box

This design was originally made by my friend Amy Cowley at The Happy Scraps. She put hers on a bag, my daughter loved the idea of using it on her Valentine’s Box.

SUPPLIES

Cricut Explore Air 2 or Cricut Maker

Glitter Paper I used the Cricut Sampler you could use any paper you like.

Cardboard box –

wrapping paper

Cricut Design Space Mermaid Tail

Hot Glue/Gun – this is my favorite is a low temp and so I don’t get burned as much.

Tutorial:

Assembly supplies, cut Mermaid tail from design space and hearts. I used a hot glue gun to apply the hearts. I started at the top and kept adding, alternating the colors until you are happy with the look.

Glue to your wrapped box and then decorate as you like. It’s fun to add names, seashells, sew horse and other under water creatures. Be creative and have fun

Be sure to cut a hole in the top of the box so there is a place for kids to drop their valentine.

Be sure to check out all these other fun Valentine Boxes – all of them can be created using your Cricut!
